Mrs Di Fleming AM
Honorary Consul for the Republic of Mauritius in Victoria
Assuming the role of Honorary Consul for the Republic of Mauritius has been a great honour. Di is delighted to be working more closely with Mauritian diaspora across Victoria, the Mauritian High Commission in Canberra and the Australian High Commission in Port Louis. She is the Acting Chair of the Advisory Group on Australia Africa Relations, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australian Government.
As Executive Director of the Ducere Foundation and Founding President of the Australia Africa Chamber of Commerce, Di has been working in Africa for nearly ten years, building commercial relationships, leading trade missions and delegations, and creating teaching and learning models for school improvement.
Di invests four months of each year across Africa, increasing her knowledge, building relationships with education ministries and also working in the sphere of incubation, entrepreneurship and an enterprise based model for change.
As the Principal of Kilvington Girls Grammar, Di was the first educator to become Telstra Victorian Businesswoman of the Year Award. Di is also founder and CEO of Digital Harbour a major greenfield technology development at the Melbourne Docklands, founding CEO of Lab 3000 – the Centre for Excellence in Digital Design at RMIT University and a former associate professor in education and digital design at the Universities of Melbourne and RMIT respectively.
